Appendix to paper: A novel method for predicting transmembrane segment in proteins based on a statistical analysis of the SwissProt database: the PRED-TMR algorithm

Table 1: Set of 101 non homologous proteins used as a test set for the PRED-TMR algorithm. These were chosen from a set of 155 proteins (Table 2, below) collected from sequences used in three recent papers (Rost et al., 1995; Rost et al., 1996; Cserzo et al., 1997), discarding those with more than 25% homology. The 64 proteins used for the optimization of the hydrophobicity cut-off are followed in Table 2 by an '*'.
