GeneViTo Installation Instructions |
When the download process has been completed, the appropriate compressed file (.tar.gz for linux, .zip for Windows systems) will be saved somewhere on your hard disc.
The next step is to extract this file into a directory/folder with sufficient privileges. All necessary files are extracted into a new directory named [OS]-VITO (the root GeneViTo directory), where OS is the operating system type (LIN32 for LINUX, WIN for Windows systems).
Note for Linux users:
The permissions of the file named GeneViTo in the program root directory should be changed
in order to allow all possible users on the system to execute it.
Executing GeneViTo is straightforward:

Alternatively, if the user path is set-up to include the GeneViTo root directory, then to execute GeneViTo just type in the command prompt GeneViTo.
